Black Panther 3 | Lupita Nyong’o Wants Idris Elba in Sequel

Astro has participated in both the MCU and the DCEU

While Black Panther does not have a third confirmed film, some are already thinking of names to compose the cast. Lupita Nyong’o, who plays spy Nakia in the film, revealed to E! News that would love to see Idris Elba participate in the sequel. Asked why, the actress was straightforward: “Why not?” she added, “Idris must be in everything”.

Elba has already shown himself to be a versatile actor when it comes to superhero movies. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he plays Heimdall, Thor’s loyal friend and protector of Bifröst, who briefly appeared in Thor: Love and Thunder. While in the DC Extended Universe, the actor was the Bloodthirsty anti-hero in The Suicide Squad.

If Idris is confirmed to be in Marvel productions again, he would not be the first to achieve such a feat. Before starring as Sersi in The Eternals, Gemma Chan made her MCU debut as the villainous Minerva in Captain Marvel. Michelle Yeoh also made a brief appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 before appearing as Ying Nan in Shan-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

The sequel to one of the MCU’s biggest hits will return to the world of Wakanda, reuniting characters like Shuri (Wright) and Okoye (Danai Gurira). The film should also pay tribute to T’Challa, character played by actor Chadwick Boseman, who died in 2020.

Also returning to the cast are Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke and Martin Freeman. Among the newcomers are Michaela Coel and Dominique Thorne, who will be Riri Williams/Ironheart.
