Knives Out 2 | Sequence has “brilliant” script, says Dave Bautista

Actor will be part of the new film by Rian Johnson on Netflix

The sequel to Between Knives and Secrets has a brilliant script according to Dave Bautista. Known for playing Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy, the star praised the film’s text to Slashfilm and revealed that being on the project is scary:

“It is terrifying. I’m nervous about it, really nervous. It’s one of those things where the pressure is strong, because people are expecting things from you. I want to deliver and I’m proud of it. (…) I know the script is brilliant, the director is brilliant and I know everyone that they will be climbing – obviously Daniel [Craig] will be there, he is brilliant, and I believe that Ed Norton was also cast. Then, the names will get bigger and better, and for me … I can’t get it out of my head that there will always be a part of me that feels new to it and that is still learning, and I want to be able to stand my ground. ”

As well as the first Between Knives and Secrets, which brought together great Hollywood actors, the sequence currently has Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe and Kathryn Hahn. For Dave Bautista, projects like this help put his own career in perspective:

“There is an intimidating factor, because all of these actors and directors are just talented, experienced and award winners. But at the end of the day, that’s how I assess my career and the people I’m working with. The projects I’m on, the directors I work with. So I know that being announced as part of this cast is a big statement, because the first movie broke ”.

Launched in 2019, Between Knives and Secrets tells the story of a group of relatives who gather to celebrate the birthday of their patriarch (Christopher Plummer). At the party, the patriarch dies enigmatically and a detective begins his investigation. Meanwhile, all possible suspects are under house arrest and, of course, chaos ensues. Daniel Craig and Lakeith Stanfield play the detectives who need to solve the murder. The cast complete Jamie Lee Curtis, Ana de Armas, Katherine Langford, Michael Shannon, among others.

The film had 97% approval on Rotten Tomatoes, made $ 309 million at the worldwide box office, and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

The sequel to Between Knives and Secrets has no release date yet, but will be released directly into the Netflix catalog.
