Leonardo DiCaprio Advised Timothée Chalamet Not To Make Superhero Movies

Titanic and The Wolf of Wall Street Veteran’s Advice Goes Further

Blame Leonardo DiCaprio for Timothée Chalamet’s dislike of superhero movies. In a new interview with Vogue, the Dune star revealed that the Titanic actor was the one who advised him to stay away from the genre.

Last year, Chalamet had said that one of his idols had advised him “not to do hard drugs and not to make a hero movie”, but he declined to reveal the veteran’s name. Now, to Vogue, he has confirmed DiCaprio’s identity.

In the interview, the actor also talked about his role as Willy Wonka in Wonka, the prequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory directed by Paul King. Chalamet defines the film as “very sincere and fun”.

He added that he has seven musical numbers in the film and that playing Wonka allowed him to temporarily “escape” his “pretty boring” adult life.

Wonka’s premiere is scheduled for March 17, 2023.
