Poor Things: Emma Stone and Mark Ruffalo in the new Frankenstein movie

According to reports, after their much-deserved victory for I Know This Much is True, Mark Ruffalo and Emma Stone, who stars in the film Cruella, are chosen to star in the new film that will be directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, the genius who He already gave us movies like The Favorite, The Lobster, Dogtooth, and The Killing of a Sacred Deer.
Gray’s novel , Poor Things, has been described as a “hilarious political allegory” and as “a consignment of Victorian literature,” as well as “a thought-provoking duel between the desires of men and the independence of women. women”.
The film is a version a bit different from the classic story of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley (who supposedly wrote when he was just a teenager), where the monster is actually a woman with erotomanía (ie, which has the delusion that someone is in love with her when clearly it is not the case) who goes by the name Bella Baxter.

What is Poor Things about?
According to the book, Bella Baxter is “resurrected” using the brain of a baby, before that, she was Victoria Blessington , a woman who commits suicide in order to escape from her abusive husband.
But Victoria’s story does not end there, after her death, a surgeon decides to bring her back to life using the brain of the baby she was expecting, which means that Bella comes back to life with the mentality of a girl, but eventually she becomes engaged to a Glasgow doctor who ends up drugged so that she can escape with a lawyer who takes her to tour Europe, where her brain begins to mature and she develops greater awareness.
Bella’s big problem is that her freedom is at risk when, while touring Europe, her original husband recognizes her as Victoria and decides that he is not ready to let her go so easily.
The cast and crew
According to Collider , Tony McNamara , an Oscar nominee for co-writing the screenplay for The Favorite, will adapt the novel, while Stone will produce under his Fruit Tree banner alongside Ali Herting and Dave McCary, Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe of Element Pictures, Film4. and Lanthimos.
As for the actors, Emma Stone will play Bella Baxter, while Ruffalo is expected to play some of the key characters in Bella’s life (be it the surgeon, her husband, or the lawyer she escapes with), although not it is known which exactly). Ruffalo is also about to return as the Hulk in the Marvel series about She-Hulk, he will appear in the series What If…? and recently wrapped filming on The Adam Project with Ryan Reynolds.
