Spider-Man | Mistakenly published teaser heats up multiverse theories
New video for No Way Home has glitch that resembles effect seen in Sony animation
A new teaser of the new Spider-Man, the third Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland — who was named here No Return Home — was mistakenly published by Sony Argentina. Despite being deleted shortly thereafter, the post stayed on the air long enough to stimulate speculation and theories among fans.
Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, the villain of Spider-Man: No Way Home?
In the video, the movie’s logo appears, for a fraction of a second, with red colors, as if there had been a glitch – an effect similar to that observed in the Spider-Man animation in the Spiderverse. Based on that brief moment, fans have already begun to speculate that the move could be proof that the film will introduce the concept of the Multiverse, as rumors attached to the production’s cast suggest.
Check out the teaser posted on Twitter below. Above, you will find the Brazilian version, published a few hours later:
The third film in the series will bring back actors from previous films such as Zendaya, Marisa Tomei and Jacob Batalon. Production will be by Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal. Jon Watts, who directed the hero’s last two films, returns as director.
In addition, there will also be the return of Jamie Foxx, from The Spectacular Spider-Man 2, again in the role of the villain Electro; and Alfred Molina in Spider-Man 2 as Doctor Octopus. It has been revealed that Benedict Cumberbatch will also be in the film, serving as Peter Parker’s new mentor.
The premiere of the third Spider-Man film is set for December 16th.
