Surprise, the most watched series in Netflix history is not Stranger Things

Even though Stranger Things has exceeded one billion hours of viewing on Netflix, it was not enough to dethrone the most-watched series in the history of the platform. 

On Netflix, the war for the series that will have accumulated the highest viewing score is raging. Astronomical figures, sometimes reaching a billion hours of viewing, have already been generated on the platform. In the inner circle of the most watched series in the history of Netflix is ​​unsurprisingly Stranger Things , the series event of the moment which follows the adventures of the teenagers of Hawkins. With the broadcast of Season 4 of Stranger Thingsat the end of last May, the series met with incredible success, which allowed it to accumulate more than 287 million hours of viewing in 3 days to reach 781 million hours of viewing in just 17 days. The craze did not wane and things rushed even further after the broadcast of the second part of season 4 on July 1 ^, which generated more than 300 million hours of viewing in three days. Such success has allowed Stranger Things to exceed one billion hours of viewing in 28 days and climb to the podium of the most watched series in Netflix history. 

But with a total of 1.4 billion hours of viewing in one month, Stranger Things however failed to dethrone the most watched series of all time, namely Squid Game. The success of the South Korean series indeed allowed it to take first place of the podium immediately after its release in 2021. In just one month, Squid Game had generated nearly 1.7 billion hours of viewing. Squid Game has still found a sizeable rival and the race was tight with Stranger Things, which has not yet said its last word. Expected for 2023, the release of its fifth season on Netflix could perhaps be a game-changer.
