In Ted Lasso, the plot follows a character with that name who has been called to lead a famous European soccer team for its success, but whose coach has had to change due to a love affair with the now director of the club called AFC Richmond, which plays in the English Premier League (the highest category of football in England). The problem? That Ted Lasso has zero experience as a football coach and must devise a plan to be accepted by the players and the fans.
Although in the Apple series Ted Lasso‘s success as a coach is not really visible, in real life the opposite has happened. And it is that this character -played by Jason Sudeikis, who you can see acting in other films- will now also be a participant in FIFA 23 , joining the playable characters that you can choose to participate in the sports competitions offered by this canonical video game .
The decision has been made by the firm of Canadian origin Electronic Arts, which despite the conflicts around rights to use the FIFA name that they recently experienced, still maintains this brand to produce its video games . On this occasion, they will add Ted Lasso to the most famous courts in the virtual world .
Ted Lasso can be hired by players as a coach to lead teams in the game mode that focuses on management duties. We can’t wait to see our fans enjoying the opportunity to play with us, or even play against their favorite AFC Richmond players.”
FIFA 23 will go on sale on September 30 of this year and will be available on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, PC, Stadia and previous generation Sony and Microsoft consoles.
