The Crown unveils first images of Elizabeth Debicki and Dominic West as Diana and Charles
Netflix is already starting to teaser season 5 of The Crown with the first images of Elizabeth Debicki and Dominic West as Princess Diana and Prince Charles.
Netflix has unveiled the first images of its new royal couple! While season 5 of The Crown should not arrive on our screens before 2022, the streaming platform is already starting to tease the next episodes which (with season 6) will complete the historical drama. In an Instagram post published this Tuesday, August 17, Netflix gave a preview of the new cast, with pictures of Elizabeth Debicki and Dominic West as Princess Diana and Prince Charles.
To interpret the famous Lady Di in the early 90s, it is Elizabeth Debick (recently seen in Tenet ) who will succeed Emma Corrin, awarded a Golden Globe for her interpretation of a younger Diana in season 4. For his part, Dominic West will reprise the role of Prince Charles after the performance of Josh O’Connor, who also triumphed at the Golden Globes in 2021.
Aired since 2016 and covering a decade per season, The Crown will now focus on the reign of Queen Elisabeth II during the period from 1990 to 2000. On the program for season 5: the divorce of Princess Anne and Mark Phillips, the fire at Windsor Castle but also the official separation of Diana and Charles. The rest of the cast is notably made up of Imelda Staunton (Dolores Umbridge in Harry Potter ) who will reprise the role of the Queen, Lesley Manville who will play Princess Margaret, and Jonathan Pryce who will play Prince Philip.
