Venom: Time of Carnage | Andy Serkis explains the difference between symbionts
Director detailed the skills of the villain Carnage
Venom: Time of Carnage will put two of the greatest symbionts of the Marvel Universe face to face, since now the antihero played by Tom Hardy will fight Carnage, villain played by Woody Harrelson. In an interview with IGN, director Andy Serkis revealed the main differences between the characters:
“Venom is … very straightforward in a way. He’s like a quarterback: very grounded, physically heavy, his specialty is brute force. On the other hand, Carnage can take its energy and completely change it because of the way Cletus is manipulative psychologically and physically. So, we wanted his whole style of movement to be very characteristic, out of shape and strange, just to not be able to define it. It would be like trying to fight an octopus, basically. ”
Serkis also detailed some of the characteristics of Carnage, which has versatility in its favor:
“It can turn into fog, it can resort to all kinds of tendrils, it can take different forms. You can use a gun and do all these different things. Like all symbionts, it reflects the person who hosts them. So Carnage brings darkness, amusement, intelligence and strangeness. Cletus has real intelligence and a real sense of humor. We wanted to reflect that on the symbiote that is connected to it. ”
Venom raised $ 851 million at the worldwide box office. There are still no further details on the plot of the second film, which will have the return of Tom Hardy in the main role and Michelle Williams as Anne.
Venom: Carnage Time hits theaters on September 16, 2021.
